    @mydominicansalon Quick Q? The Blow dryer/steam dryer looks very hot! I have natural hair. Will you hair revert back easily, afterwards? Or does it affect curl pattern? Beautiful results bTw! :)

    ok, quick questions…… i will blindly assume that the ady in the chair is African-American. (sorry if shes not) Now, before all the the work was done, had she had a relaxer in her hair, or is she natural? Next, how long does one visit usually take and what are the price ranges? Does the cost vary by hair length and texture and is it best to make an appointment or are walk-ins welcomed?

    i am a recent relaxed woman and i have friends that go to Dominican shops, but they wont share info.

    its not the blowers, or the flat iron, or relaxers,or the rollers, its the hands on experience.

    Great video and technique! I need to learn how to roller set and that would be half the battle! LOL. I used to stretch my relaxers for four months when I was living close to a Dom. salon. I had the longest hair in my life following this method. I miss my Dom. salons.

    I recently heard about this method (Dominican Blowouts). After I watched the video its the same technique done by Egyptians in Chicago…Natural hair becomes bone straight.

    @misslou57
    You just answered your own question. Steam.
    And she just put a shining gloss. Your typical silicone serum, offers heat protection and shine, etc. It’s the technique that makes the style, not JUST the products.

    @CamilaRox11
    Because, the rollers are just meant to loosen the texture.
    The Blow Dryer is supposed to give you a sleeker style. The rollers alone give TOO much volume. And if you want that much volume, don’t relax your hair. ;)

    @EricaYE6 The girl’s hair wasn’t that bad when she was roller setting it actually but I’m sure you could get the same result if your hair is relaxed.

    @CamilaRox11 The Rollerset is to lift the roots and to give the hair massive shine and the blow dryer is to make it straigh..so over all its not one flat stif style..you can also do the Doobie (wrap) to make it straight with out the heat

    December 23rd, 2010 at 02:10 | #30

    @CamilaRox11 they have to striahgten the roots. like if u r natural then the rollers do not completely straighten and if u r going natural then ur roots will be curly and the rest straight
