Hair can be soft or it can be wiry or straight. (Or sometimes even curly.) When I was little, I had to get a crew cut. I have seven cowlicks so I have to part my hair in the middle. When I would run in the winter with a toboggan on, I would get ice in my hair from the sweat running off my head. Once, I went a year without getting a hair cut and then went to the barber shop down the street and for seven dollars got a flattop and all the old guys hanging out thought it was hilarious and the guy who ran the liquor store next door even came over to watch. I was always me even though my hair has always had a life of its own.
Each song on this Beauty School CD has its own hair style. Some are alternative. One is F-U-N-K-Y, brother. Some are ominous, like yer going to the funeral of someone you didn’t know you wanted to die until they were dead. Some are smarter. Some are retro. Some are not so smart. At least one is inspirational. Most all of them, though, are rockin’ all the way down to the roots. That’s what a good barber can do: he takes yer hair and can make it do different things depending on what you want. Or what he wants. Or what yer hair wants.
Face it: You need a makeover. This CD will help. You do not want a blind man cutting yer hair. And you do not want to be cutting yer own hair.
