Ali and Manel Hammoud migrated to Australia from Lebanon in 1987. While on maternity leave, Manel did a beauty course and fell in love with the beauty industry. With a masters degree in Electrical engineering, Manel’s husband, Ali, wanting to help his wife follow her dream decided to set up their first salon in Sydney’s Hurstville. While renting their home and supporting two children starting up a business was a major risk. They took the risk and started of with a small range of skin products and beauty treatments. Ella Rouge Beauty quickly became an industry leader and became the first beauty salon in Australia to introduce laser hair removal. Three more salons opened in the first four years, with therapists and technicians trained to the highest standards. Today Ella Rouge Beauty now operates twenty stores and skin bars, with franchising available, has grown to become one of the most reputable beauty chains in Australia.
